Scope note
Polymerized methyl methacrylate is a compound having a hard and glasslike appearance, with softening temperature from 105-125 C. Classified as bioinert. As a resin, widely used as a glass substitute (e.g., Plexiglass (TM)) and a bonelike material for prosthetics. First commercially sold in 1933 as a glass substitute.
